Cosimo Urso, age 81, 40 Main Mifflin Road, Bloomsburg, died at his home at 4:30 p. m. Thursday, January 21, 2010 after having been in ill health since October.
Born in Berwick on April 11, 1928, he was a son of the late Antonio and Maria G. (Amorbianco) Urso. He resided in Mainville since 1935.
Cosimo was employed by the former Bloomsburg Mills, Inc., for 51 years, retiring in 1993.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Cosimo was an avid gardener and loved music, playing several instruments.
He served with the US Army during World War, II.
Cosimo was preceded in death by his wife, the former Betty J. Judge on December 13, 2008; by four brothers: Pasqualino Urso; Joseph Urso; Antonio Urson; Mike (Michele) Urso; and a sister, Anna Urso.
Surviving are two sons: Terry Urso, and his wife Kathleen, Bloomsburg; Jody Urso, Catawissa; three grandchildren: Lori, wife of Tim Stehle, Lewisburg; Jessica, wife of Grey Adams, Coal Township; Jennifer Urso, Catawissa; two great granddaughters; a sister, Mary, wife of Clyde Reeves, Gary, Ind.; and two brothers: Rosario Urso and Vincent "Jimmy" Urso, both of Buffalo, N.Y.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with Rev. Paul R. Fisher, pastor of St. Columba Catholic Church officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9-10 a. m.
