Curtis M. Scheib

Curtis M. Scheib, age 57, 866 Railroad Street, Bloomsburg, died at 2:17 a. m. Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the home of his former wife, Sylvia Scheib, in Espy.

Born in Philadelphia on January 21, 1960, he was the son of Elwood E. Scheib, Wadesboro, N.C. and the late Elizabeth M. (Pluguez) Scheib. His early life was spent in the New Columbus area and he resided in Bloomsburg since 2007.

Curtis was a 1978 graduate of Northwest Area High School and also graduated from Luzerne County Community College  where he majored in electrical work. He currently was self employed as a contractor and also did custom woodworking.

He was a member of the Better Business Bureau and enjoyed reading Clive Cussler books. He enjoyed music, playing the guitar, camping and camp fires.

Curtis served in the U. S. Army from 1978 to 1983.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant brother on November 11, 1970.

Surviving in addition to his father, is his former wife Sylvia Scheib; two daughters: Emily L. Scheib and Sarah E. Scheib, a grandson, Layne Scheib, all of Bloomsburg; eight siblings: Marlene A., wife of Roger Crawford, Wadesboro, N.C.; Elaine M., wife of Jerry Sabatini, Troy; Susan E. Montreuil, Stillwater; Laurance J. Scheib, and his wife Song, Bloomsburg; Carl Scheib, Stillwater; Nancy J., wife of Carl Krouse, Berlin, Wisconsin; Eric J. Scheib, and his wife Ellie, Fayetteville, N.C.; Stephen A. Scheib, and his wife Tracey, Wilmington,. Del.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

At his request, there will be no funeral services or viewing.
