Cynthia A. (Cooney) Allen

Cynthia A. (Cooney) Allen, age 58, of 54 Long View Dr., Bloomsburg, passed away Wednesday morning, December 22, 2021, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville from Brain Cancer.

She was born in Corry on February 1, 1963, the daughter of Patrick and Bonnie (Fitzgerald) Cooney. A 1981 graduate of Corry High School, Cindy resided in Orange Township for the past 25 years.
Cynthia was last employed by the Berwick Hospital Center office in Bloomsburg and previously by Dr. Frank Gergits at the Northeast Ear, Nose, and Throat office in the Williams Medical Center in Lime Ridge as a Medical Assistant.
Cynthia had a loving nature and a great sense of humor. She cherished her family time with her husband, children and her Westie dog, Lily. She loved NASCAR, the Philadelphia Phillies, board games, and playing cards. She had a quick wit and was a master of word puns. She enjoyed growing flowers at her home.
Surviving in addition to her parents who reside in Corry, is her husband, Thomas Allen, with whom she celebrated her 34th wedding anniversary on August 1, 2021; two daughters: Jessica M. Allen, of Nazareth and Malissa G. Allen, of Bloomsburg; a son, Tyler J. Allen, of Bloomsburg; a brother, Mark Cooney, and his wife Kelli, of Corry; a sister, Michelle, wife of Mike Graeb, of Allison Park; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday December 30, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with family friend and United Methodist minister, Rev. Audrey M. Brosious, officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m or on Thursday from 10-11 a.m.
