Daisy M. Fausey Deiterich
Daisy M. Fausey Deiterich, age 97, formerly of 365 College Hill, Bloomsburg, died at 8:05 a. m. Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the Orangeville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Orangeville, where she was a guest since Nov. 13, 2012.
Born in Washingtonville on May 25, 1916, she was a daughter of the late John and Virgie (Cooper) Cotner, She resided in Bloomsburg much of her lifetime.
Daisy was a clerk at Sears, Roebuck & Co., Bloomsburg for many years before retiring and earlier she was employed by the former Housenick Ford dealership in Bloomsburg.
She was a longtime member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg and the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary.
Daisy received great joy from entertaining her friends through the years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold J. Fausey on July 27, 1967 ; by her second husband, Charles F. Deiterich on Oct. 10, 1994; by her only child, Sheldon Edward Fausey on July 28, 2000; by three sisters: Mary Ferro, Ruth Knarr and Martha Love; and by three brothers: Chester Cotner, Basil Cotner and George Cotner.
Surviving are three grandsons: William J. Fausey, and his wife Debbie, Dover, Del .; Robert H. Fausey, and his wife Alexa, Hartley, Del; and David Yannacci, and his wife Tracey, Dover, Del.; a granddaughter, Shelley Kay, wife of Dan Carpenter, Monroe, Wash; four great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy "Thelma" Hower, Bristow, Va. There are also as number of nephews and nieces, including her caregiver, Cindy, wife of Donald Esler, Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Gary D. Weaver officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. Viewing on Tuesday from 1-2 p. m.
