DALE F. RAINIER
Dale F. Rainier, age 68, 175 Mellick Hollow Road, Bloomsburg, died at his home at 10:35 a. m. Thursday, January 14, 2010 after an illness of two years.

Born on April 25, 1941 in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late Frank G. and Florence A. (Lupole) Rainier. He spent his entire life in the Bloomsburg area and was a 1959 graduate of Central Columbia High School.

Dale was employed by Travelports of America at the Buckhorn Truck Stop for 18 years, retiring in 2006. Earlier he was employed by Milco Industries, Inc.

He was an active member of the Canby Lutheran Church, Millertown and served on the Church council

Dale was preceded in death by his wife, the former Faye I. Pifer, his daughter, Lisa A. Hunsinger, his son-in-law, Frank E. Hunsinger, and his grandson, Eric E. Hunsinger when their home was destroyed in a fire on January 6, 1995; and by a brother Norman L. "Yogie" Rainer on March 17, 1991.

Surviving are a daughter Judy M. Elliott, who resided with him, and eight siblings: Donald E. Rainier, and his wife Arlene, Orange City, Fla.; Robert G. Rainier, and his wife Audrey, Millville; Mary W., wife of Egan Fehnel, Emmaus; Elizabeth L. Fetterman, Catawissa; Ruth E. Long, Millville; George J. Rainier, and his wife Shirley, Irwin; David T. Rainier, Bloomsburg; and Joseph D. Rainier, and his wife Connie, Kempton.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a. m. in the Canby Lutheran Church, 529 Millertown Road, Bloomsburg. Interment will be in Canby Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Church, Tuesday from 10-11 a. m.

The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to Canby Lutheran Church, 529 Millertown Road, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
