Dana D. Lamoreaux, age 81, 2418 Reichart Road, Bloomsburg died at his home at 9:50 a. m. Saturday, April 14, 2012. He was in failing health for five years.
Born At Muhlenburg, Luzerne County on May 8, 1930, he was a son of the late Clark and Blanche (Cragle) Lamoreaux. He resided in the Bloomsburg area for over 60 years.
Dana was last employed by the former Catawissa Lumber Co., retiring in 1995 after 16 years employment. Earlier he worked at the former Magee Carpet Co. for 26 years.
He was a member of St. Paulâs Episcopal Church, Bloomsburg.
Dana was a life member of the Orangeville Sportsmans Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, football and NASCAR racing.
He served with the US Army during the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, the former Gloria J. Eckenroth, with whom he celebrated his 61st wedding anniversary on February 17, 2012 and a brother, Morris Lamoreaux, and his wife, Shirley, Bloomsburg.
Dana was preceded in death by five brothers: Glen Lamoreaux, Robert Lamoreaux, Loren Lamoreaux, Ralph Lamoreaux, Eldon Lamoreaux and a sister, Ada Hess.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with his pastor, Rev. Marjorie A. Menaul officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy, with military honors by the combines VFW group.
