Daniel T. Makara, age 89, of 585 Scotch Valley Drive, Bloomsburg, died at 9:30 a. m. Friday, April 15, 2022 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville where he was a patient.
Born in Hazleton on February 17, 1933, he was a son of the late Stephen and Mary (Gallo) Makara. He spent most of his life in Beaver Township.
Daniel was last employed by the former Catawissa Lumber Co. where he worked for many years before retiring in 1995. Earlier he worked at the former S & B Foundry in Bloomsburg and the Fulton Lamp Co., Berwick.
His hobbies were hunting and fishing and he was a Phillies fan.
Daniel served his country as a member of the U. S. Army during the Korean War era.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife the former Edna M. Keller, on January 29, 2021, ending a marriage of 63 years.
Daniel is served by his two sons, Daniel J. Makara and Dennis D. Makara who resided with him. He was the last of his immediate family.
At his request, there will be no funeral services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
