Darcy L. Long, age 62, 161 Buckhorn Road, Bloomsburg, died at 8:10 a. m. Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for nine days. She was in failing health for several years.
Born in Berwick on December 31, 1952, she was a daughter of Mildred (Purcel) Moyer, Manassas, Va. and the late Raymond Moyer. She was a 1969 graduate of Central Columbia High School and resided in Buckhorn for more than 30 years.
Darcy was last employed by Offray Industries, Berwick and earlier at the former Friends In Mind Book Store in the Market Street Shopping Plaza, Bloomsburg and at Wise Foods, Inc., Berwick.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time outside and walking.
Surviving in addition to her mother, is her husband, David L. Long, with whom she celebrated 21 years of marriage on September 19, 2014, three children: Daniel E. Long, and his wife Stacy, Benton; Brandy K., wife of Michael Whitenight, Berwick; Brett A. Long, Buckhorn; eight grandchildren: Skyla Long, Starla Long, Daniel Long, Emily Long, Annelena Long, Clayton Whitenight, Joscylen Whitenight and Gwendolynn Whitenight; a sister, Rose, wife of John White, Lightstreet; and a brother, John Moyer, and his wife Kathryn, Manassas, Va.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Allen F. Acor, United Methodist minister, officiating. Interment in Columbia Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 10-11 a. m.
