Darlis M. (Wertman) Braddock, age 86, of E. Front Street, Danville died at her home early Thursday, August 31, 2023 after an illness.
Born in Mahoning Township, Montour County on January 8, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Edna (Laubach) Wertman. She was a 1955 graduate of Danville High School.
Darlis resided in Danville since 2004 and previously resided in Virginia for 18 years and earlier in New Jersey.
She was employed by the ITT, Corp in Roanoke, Virginia, retiring in 1998. While a resident of New Jersey, she drove a school bus for 13 years.
Darlis was a talented oil painter and also decorated sea shells for which she received blue ribbons at the Bloomsburg Fair. She did needlepoint and was well known for the wedding cakes she made.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Earl J. Braddock, Jr., two sisters and a brother.
Darlis is survived by her husband, Earl J. Braddock, with whom she celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on February 24, 2023; four children: Kim L., wife of Mark Novak, Rocky Mount, Virginia, Mark Braddock and his wife Nancy of Hopewell, New Jersey, Lisa wife of Thomas Hunt, Pennington, New Jersey, Keith Braddock and his wife Lorraine, Ridgway, Virginia; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wesley Wertman and his wife Judy of Danville and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held at the First Baptist Church, 12 Brookside Drive, Danville with Rev. Dawes Dunham officiating on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11 a. m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
