David K. “Kelly” Brewer, age 92, of 1621 Main Street, Bloomsburg (Lightstreet) died peacefully at 8:30 p. m. Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Brookdale Senior Living Center in Scott Township.
Born in Orangeville on October 7, 1928, he was a son of the late Leon S. and Myrtle M. (Keller) Brewer. He attended the Orangeville High School and graduated from the former Scott Township High School in Espy. He resided in Lightstreet for the past 50 years.
Kelly owned a number of businesses including the “Thrifty” Car Wash in Bloomsburg and Brewer Equipment Co. in Orange Township.
He attended the Shiloh Bible Church in Almedia
Kelly collected automobile license plates and was an avid reader, especially of historical novels.
He served with the United States Air Force for four years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Doyle Brewer and Donald Brewer and by two sisters: Doris Smith and Diane Ent.
Surviving is his loving wife, the former Ruth Coder, with whom he observed their 62nd wedding anniversary on December 27, 2020 and five children: Nancy, wife of Eduardo Daniel Danganan of St. Inigoes, Md.; Daniel K. Brewer, and his wife Carol, Bloomsburg; Linda K. Brewer, Orangeville; twins: Douglas D. Brewer and his wife Brenda, Bloomsburg and Dean A. Brewer and his wife Ruth, Bloomsburg; four grandchildren: Noah Brewer-Houghton, Makiah Brewer, Lincoln Brewer, Hudson Brewer; a sister, Dawn Johnson, Bloomsburg and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a. m. in the Shiloh Bible Church 120 Church Street, Bloomsburg (Almedia) with his pastor, Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Orangeville. Viewing at the Church from 10-11 a. m.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
