David L. Brown, Jr.
David L. Brown, Jr., age 52, 16 Bloom Street, Danville, died at 8:20 p. m. Saturday, July 4, 2015, at the home of his brother, Dennis Brown, in Riverside. He was seriously ill for the past six months.
Born in Bloomsburg on December 4, 1962 he was the son of Mary (Eifert) Shetler, Bloomsburg and the late David L. Brown, Sr. He resided in Danville for the past year and had lived in Bloomsburg much of his life., where he was a 1980 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.
David was employed by Weis Foods, Inc., at their Danville store for about five years, last working in 2005. Earlier he was employed by Jil-J Enterprises in the Magee Complex, Bloomsburg for a number of years.
He was a loving sensitive man who had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with his family. David had a great love of music, especially rock and roll, and sports. He couldn't be beat when playing trivia games on either of these topics. He was also a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Dallas Cowboys.
Surviving in addition to his mother, is his wife, the former Samantha M. "Sam" Baker, whom he married on June 10, 2001; a step son, William Baker, and his wife Ashley and a step granddaughter, Emily Pauline Baker, all of Bloomsburg; six siblings: Judy, wife of Tom Snyder, Mountaintop; Virginia, wife of James Cheatwood, Anderson, South Carolina; Dennis Brown, and his wife Kelly, Riverside; Diane Thomas, Catawissa; Kathy, wife of Nick Hansel, Dover; Mary, wife of Gerald Bredbenner, Millville; 12 nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held on Wed. at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. R. Christian Dunlap, chaplain of the Geisinger-Columbia Montour Hospice officiating. Interment in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 a. m. to 11 a. m.
