David R. “Davey” Dietz, Jr., age 27, 455 Madrid Ave., Bloomsburg (Espy), passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016.
Born in Mahoning Twp., Montour County on February 23, 1989, he was a son of David M. and Ann Marie (Leschinsky) Dietz, at home. Davey spent his first three years in Kulpmont before moving to Espy with his family in 1992. He was a 2007 graduate of Central Columbia High School, and went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Resources from Bloomsburg University.
In his free time, Davey taught himself to play the guitar and golf. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, the History Channel, and Game of Thrones with his dad. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan, liked to play fantasy football and loved to eat all kinds of food. Davey was a very playful young man who would always appreciate a good laugh or joke. He could often be found pet-sitting his family‘s four dogs.
He was a dedicated family man and was always there when you needed him. Davey loved spending time with the people close to him; especially his mother Ann Marie, father David Sr., late grandmother Verna, brother Adam, sister Emily, brother-in-law Brooke, and niece Lily.
Davey will forever be in our hearts and be remembered as a loving son, brother, grandson and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Adam Leschinsky, paternal grandmother, Verna Kasinowski and an uncle, Robert Kasinowski.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his sister, Emily, wife of Brooke Brockmann, Bloomsburg; brother, Adam Dietz, and his girlfriend Catherine, at home; a niece whom he loved dearly, Lily Brockmann, Bloomsburg; maternal grandmother, Lottie Leschinsky, Atlas; two aunts: Marie, wife of Edward Brennan, Lewisburg and Diane, wife of Dan Maury, Montoursville; an uncle, Dennis Leschinsky, Kulpmont and nine cousins: Eric, Laura, Tyler, Rachel, Danny, Sherry, Eddie, Michelle and Katrina.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg, with Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. Viewing from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with a prayer service at 7:45 p.m.
