David K. Simpson, age 63, formerly of 245 Market Street, Sunbury, died after a prolonged battle with cancer at 3:05 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the Bloomsburg Health Care Center, where he had been a patient since May.
Born in Sunbury on December 26, 1946, he was a son of the late Alfred and Viola May (McCloud) Simpson. He resided in Sunbury for most of his life.
David was employed at Keystone Forge and Milton Steel for a number of years before retirement.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and served during the Vietnam War.
David was a life member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #503, the Goodwill Hose Company, and the VFW Post 1532; all of Sunbury.
Surviving is a daughter, Julie Simpson, Brooklyn, New York; two step-daughters: Lori Geise, Sunbury and Lisa Brosious, Trevorton; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Dale Simpson, wife Wanda, Sunbury.
