Derl S. "Little Derl" Hampton, Jr.

Derl S. “Little Derl” Hampton, Jr., age 50, 7-A Rhodomoyer Road, Bloomsburg, died unexpectedly at 3:42 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 in the Emergency Room of Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital.

Born in Berwick on June 4, 1964, he was a son of the late Derl S., Sr. and Anna (Hrinda) Hampton. He resided in Mt. Pleasant Twp. for nine years, and previously lived in Berwick.

Derl was employed for several sanitation companies; including D&S, Tony Collins, and J.P. Mascaro; last working in 1991.

He was a member of the Reliance Fire Co., Berwick. Derl loved to collect farm equipment models, and enjoyed drawing in his spare time.

Surviving is his wife, the former Patricia L. Markle,  with whom he celebrated 21 years of marriage on January 26, 2014; step-mother, Laura (Shultz) Hampton, Berwick; three daughters: Jodi Kester, Anna Miller and Autumn Miller, all of Berwick; two step-daughters, Holly Markle and Brittany Wildoner, both of Berwick; and four step-siblings: Peggy Smedley, Bloomsburg; Pat Force, Chattanooga, Tenn.; Harry Smedley, wife Andrea, Bloomsburg and George Force, Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with Rev. Allen F. Acor, United Methodist minister, officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends and family will be received from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
