Diane K. (Weaver) Breech, age 65, of 141A River Hill Drive, Bloomsburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015. She had been in failing health for six months.
Born in Waller on April 4, 1949, she was the daughter of Dorothy Shaffer, Benton, the late Martin Crane, and adopted step-daughter of the late Kenneth Weaver. She was a 1967 graduate of Southern Columbia High School.
Shortly after their marriage in 1967 Diane and her husband moved to Las Vegas, Nev., where their first child was born. In 1969 they returned to the Bloomsburg area where their other three children were born.
At the age of 35 Diane went back to school, and in 1987 she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelorâs Degree in English. She then received her Masterâs Degree from the University of Scranton in 1991.
Diane worked a variety of jobs until becoming the Associate Professor in English at the Luzerne County Community College Berwick campus for 12 years, retiring in 2010.
She was one of the original members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Berwick Ward, where she served in many capacities, including the regional level of the church. The primary occupation of her adult life was to search for and reflect the life of Christ.
She was a talented artist, especially with painting and drawing, and enjoyed writing poetry and playing the piano. Among Dianeâs greatest loves were her grandchildren. She will be missed greatly by her many friends.
Surviving in addition to her mother is her husband, Doyle L. Breech, with whom she celebrated 48 years of marriage on February 17, 2015; three daughters: Dr. Donna L. Kost, Ephrata; Dawne M. Breech, Bloomsburg; and Darcy K. Evans, Danville; a son, Duane D. Breech, Allentown; four grandchildren: Daphne Kost, Phoenix, Ariz.; Zerick Evans and Lyric Evans, both of Sunbury; and Reagan Evans, Bloomsburg; and three brothers: Terry Weaver; Earl Weaver, and his wife; and Kenneth Weaver, Jr., all of Benton.
Services will be announced at a later date at the convenience of the family.
