Diane E. Schuller, M.D., age 74, Heather Hills Drive, Danville, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 25, 2018 in Hershey.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on November 27, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Charles W., Sr., and Dorothy (McWilliams) Schuller. She resided in Danville since 1974.
Dr. Schuller was a graduate of Bronx High School of Science , New York City in 1961. She continued her education by graduating from Bryn Maur College, Bryn Maur, Pa and also from the Down State Division of the State University of New York Medical School.
She was an allergist and was employed by Geisinger Medical Center, Danville for 21 years, 1974 to 1995 and by Hershey Medical Center from 1995 until she retired in 2012.
Dr. Schuller was a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, and served as the first woman president of the group in 1994. Under her leadership, the name of the group was changed to include the word asthma, in an effort to create awareness that allergists are the leading experts in treating this. A lot of work goes into situating an allergist as the primary care professional.
She was a member of the Grove Presbyterian Church, Danville.
Her only survivor is her brother, Charles W. Schuller, who resided with her.
