Dolly  M.  Engle-Bachman, age 94, 24 Spruce Street, Danville, went to see her Lord on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Grandview Health Homes, Danville, where she resided for two weeks.

She was born on August 24, 1920 in Bethlehem and was the adopted daughter of Stuart and Meda (Hensel) Engle. Her birth mother was the late Zua (Lewis) Shultz of Bloomsburg.  She resided in Danville for five years and earlier lived in Berwick and Bloomsburg.

Dolly was a 1939 graduate of Hazleton High School and attended the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia,  where she studied radiology.

She was a former member of the Hazleton Elks Club Elkettes.  She was an avid gardener, loved to dance, crochet and make doll houses and miniatures. Over the years she won many prizes at the Bloomsburg Fair with her creations. Her favorite vacation spots were Maine and Vermont.

Dolly was preceded in death by two husbands: Frederick M. Conahan and Frederick C. Bachman, M.D., her spouse for 35 years in 1995;  a son, Michael F. Conahan; a great-granddaughter, Mary Ellen Llewellyn; and  a brother, Walter F. Lewis.  

Surviving are three children: Laura Ann Marsilio, Bloomsburg; Patrick J. Conahan, and his wife Lynn, Haddon Heights, N.J.; Margaret A., wife of James Williams,  with whom she resided in Danville; six grandchildren: Jennifer Llewellyn, Jeffrey Llewellyn, Jessica Cooper, Laura Baran, Christine Carter, Patrick J. Conahan, Jr.; and four  great- grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p. m. in Christ Memorial Episcopal Church,  120 E. Market St., Danville,  with Rev. Nancy Shank, Rector of the church officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg.  There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to either the March of Dimes, 1275 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, N.Y.10605 or the American Cancer Society, 1420 N. Susquehanna Trail, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville.
