Dolores I. âReneeâ Nichols, age 77, 943 Buckhorn Road, Bloomsburg, died at 10:08 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Health Care Center where she was a patient since May 20, 2015. She had health problems for 14 years.
Born in Bloomsburg on March 3, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Horace H. âTinkerâ and Thelma D. (Wood) Hock. A 1957 graduate of Central Columbia High School, Renee resided in the Bloomsburg area her entire life.
In early years Renee was employed by Milco Industries, Bloomsburg, but was a stay at home mom for much of her life.. She was also employed by the former Lavis Catering, and with her husband was co-owner of Nichols Farm Equipment.
Renee was a member of the former Emanuel Reformed United Church of Christ, Dutch Hill.
She loved shopping and doing word find puzzles, and after two near-death experiences, she began collecting angels.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dixie M. Bardo, a brother, Gary M. Hock, and by her dog, Sam.
Surviving is her husband, Richard W. Nichols, with whom she celebrated 53 years of marriage on December 9, 2014; a son, Dennis W. Nichols, and his wife Stephanie, Catawissa; two daughters: Debbie A., wife of Christopher T. Beaver, Danville and Diane S. Zemany, Wapwallopen; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a great-great grandson; and two brothers: Terry W. Hock, and his wife Patti, Bloomsburg and Timothy J. Hock, Durham, N.C.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with Pastor Dwayne Nichols officiating. Interment in Dutch Hill Cemetery. Viewing at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
