Donald L. Guffey, age 59, 79 Hess Hill Road, Danville, died unexpectedly at 4:33 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Evangelical Hospital, Lewisburg, after being stricken at work.
Born in Danville on December 21, 1954, he was a son of the late Luther, Sr. and Pearl (Roup) Guffey. He resided in the Danville area his entire life.
Donald was employed at Weis Foods, Inc., Lewisburg for over 12 years; and previously worked at G.J. Littlewood & Son, Inc. in the Magee Complex, Bloomsburg for over 20 years.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Luther Guffey, Jr. and Francis Guffey.
Surviving is his companion of over 30 years, Beverly Williams, Danville; two sons: Donald L. Hall, companion Danielle Doone, Washingtonville and Douglas Mordan, wife Nina, Watsontown; a step-daughter, Angie Showver; eight grandchildren, including Colton Williams, with whom he was very close; a great-grandson; and nine siblings: Bonnie Kipple, John Guffey, Roseann Temple, Darlene Attinger, David Guffey, Hilda Guffey, Kandy Lawton, Margret Guffey and Starla Suchodolski, all of Danville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
