Donald L. Spaid, Jr., age 65, of 4 Knob Mountain Terrace, Orangeville, died at his home on Saturday evening, September 4, 2021 after an illness.
Born in Berwick on October 17, 1955, he was a son of the late Donald L. and Gloria A. (Cooper) Spaid.
A 1974 graduate of Central Columbia High School he resided in the Orangeville area since 1986.
Don was a self- employed general contractor. He was a very capable and handy person who could build or repair almost anything.
He was an avid fisherman and member of the Berwick Bass Club. He enjoyed being on the lake in his boat. His special time was spent with his grandchildren whom he adored.
Surviving is his loving wife, the former Melinda S. Carr, with whom he would have observed their 42nd wedding anniversary on October 27, 2021; a son, Michael A. Spaid and his wife Danielle of Bloomsburg, a daughter, Michelle, wife of Grayson Clark of Lebanon; three grandchildren: Alice, Carter and Stella; two brothers: Joseph A. Spaid, and his wife Maureen, North Carolina and Scott R. Spaid, and his wife Connie, Mifflinville; four sisters: Lee Ann, wife of John McAfee, Berwick, Doris, wife of Steve Mazal, Florida, Cindy, wife of Larry Ivey, Fowlersville, Pamela, wife of Keith Ritter, Winfield and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 7:00 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg with Pastor Paul C. Converse, pastor of the Christian Gospel Fellowship Church in Iola officiating. A viewing will be held from 5-7 p. m.
