Donald E. Wagner, Sr.
Donald E. Wagner, Sr., age 80, 144 Campbell Road, Catawissa, died at 12:54 a. m. Friday, December 19, 2014 shortly after being admitted to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Milton on May 17, 1934, he was the only son of the late Guy Boyer "Jack" and Margaret S. (Breckbill) Wagner. He was a graduate of Danville High School and resided in the Catawissa area since 1967.
Donald was employed by the Catawissa Lumber & Specialty Co. for 21 years before retiring.
He was a member of St. John's "Voughts" Lutheran Church, Mayberry Township.
Donald served with the US Navy during the Korean Conflict as a member of the crew on the destroyer escort, USS Rowan. He was a member of the Catawissa American Legion Post and the Catawissa VFW Post. He enjoyed hunting and fishing when his health permitted.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Lee Wagner on June 21, 2009.
Donald is survived by his wife, the former Patricia A. Brown, with whom he observed his 57th wedding anniversary on May 17, 2014; a son, Donald E. Wagner, Jr., Broomfield, Colo; a daughter, Patricia, wife of Richard Madden, Shamokin; four grandchildren: Trista N. Sisko, Allyson Wagner, Jade Madden, Adam Wagner; two great-grandsons: Auron Sisko and Drew Sisko; and a sister, Bette Lou, wife of Eugene Plencener, Hampden, Va.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.
