DONNA L. METZGER
Donna L. Metzger, age 67, 955 Bonnieville Road, Stillwater, was called home by her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at 10:52 a. m. in the emergency room of the Berwick Hospital Center, where she was taken after being stricken at the Northwest Primary School in Huntington Mills where she was employed.
Born in Lancaster on August 5, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Everett and Rebecca (Hutchins) Jenkins. She resided in Huntington Township for 32 years and previously lived at New Providence, Lancaster County.
Donna was a 1962 graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School, Lancaster.
She was employed by the Northwest Area School District for the past 26 years as a teachers aide, and was currently working in the Huntington Mills School.
Donna was a member of the Town Hill United Methodist Church. She was well known at the Bloomsburg Fair as âthe beloved pumpkin ladyâ working there for 26 years.
She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and Mee Maw to her three granddaughters that she affectionately called her âgirlie girlsâ.
Surviving are her husband, Theodore R. âTedâ Metzger, Jr., with whom she celebrated her 47th wedding anniversary on December 21, 2010; three daughters: Lori M. Metzger, Millville; Michelle L., wife of Matthew Lent, Frostburg, Md.; Tammi R., wife of Adam Lane, Branch, N.C.; three granddaughters: Abigail, Gwendolyn and Meredith Lent, Frostburg, Md.; her twin sister, Mary Lou, wife of Raymond Good, Intercourse; and a brother, David M. Jenkins, and his wife Vicki, Lancaster.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Jenkins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday at 5 p. m. in Emmanuel Bible Chapel, 22 B Kachinka Hollow Road., Berwick, with Pastor David L. Ney officiating.
A viewing will be held at the Church from 4-5 p. m.
