Doris J. Howell, age 86, 10 Sundale Drive, Bloomsburg (Lightstreet) died at 1:15 p. m. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Health Care Center, where she was a guest since June, 2013. She was in failing health since Feb., 2012.
Born in Berwick on April 6, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Reuben and Elizabeth (Kemp) Harner. She was a 1946 graduate of Berwick High School and resided in the Lightstreet area since 1953.
Doris was last employed by Aramark Food Services at Bloomsburg University, retiring in 2012, after 27 years of service.
She was a member of the Lightstreet United Methodist Church.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Jack A. Howell, Sr., on April 5, 1986; by a son, James R. Howell on August 20, 1980 and by ten siblings.
At Doris request, there will not be any funeral services or viewing.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
