Dorothy M. "Dottie" (Fetter) Fenstermaker

Dorothy M. “Dottie” (Fetter) Fenstermaker, age 92, of East Eighth Street, Bloomsburg, died peacefully late Saturday evening, September 2, 2023, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born in Bloomsburg on February 5, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Edna (Hyssong) Fettter. She was a lifelong resident of Bloomsburg and a 1949 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.

Dottie was employed by Bloomsburg Hospital as an accounts receivable and payable clerk for 26 years before retiring.

She was a faithful longtime member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Bloomsburg.

Readers of the Press Enterprise will remember her for the poetry she wrote that was published in 30 seconds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Sue Fenstermaker, on February 23, 2018.

Dottie is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Jay C. Fenstermaker; a son, Robert C. Fenstermaker and his wife Michele of Daleville; three grandsons: Bradley Fenstermaker, Tyler Fenstermaker and Wesley Fenstermaker, all of Daleville and a sister, Grace Marie Fetter of Kingston.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 2 p. m.in the Chapel of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 123 N. Market Street, Bloomsburg with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders, officiating. Interment will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery in Espy.  A viewing will be held in the Church parlor from 1-2 p. m.
