Dorothy A. Harvey

Dorothy A. Harvey, age 92, 199 Dahl Road, Bloomsburg, died at 6:45 p. m. Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for one day.

Born in Hemlock Township on April 27, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Lucy (Reece) Pursel. She resided in Hemlock Township most of her lifetime and attended the Bloomsburg Schools.

Dorothy was last employed at the former Bloomsburg Mills, Inc., and previously at the former R & G Silk Mill, Bloomsburg.

She enjoyed reading and watching cable news shows.

Dorothy was married to Warren C. Harvey on June 11, 1943 and he preceded her in death on December 13, 1991, severing a marriage span of 48 years. She was also preceded  in death by two brothers, Dean Pursel and Lester Pursel.

She  is survived by a son, Warren P. Harvey, and his wife Leola, Millville; a daughter, Diane M. Horean, Bloomsburg; three grandchildren: Brian Harvey, Brooke wife of Jarrod Noss, Heather wife of Shawn Gillaspy; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Andres, Elmira, New York and two step brothers: Paul Pursel and John Pursel, both of Danville.

Private services will be held in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, followed by interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. There will be no public viewing.
