Dorothy "Dot" Runyan, age 94, of Orlando, Florida and formerly of Bloomsburg, died at her home on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018 after having been in failing health for two years.
Born in Danville on January 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Owen G. and Sarah (Mitchell) Roberts. She moved to Bloomsburg in 1947 and prior to moving to Orlando in 2004 had resided on West Main Street for many years. She was a 1941 graduate of Danville High School.
Dot was employed by the Press Enterprise newspaper for 35 years, retiring in 1989. At the time she retired, she was a clerk in the advertising department.
She was a member of the Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, Bloomsburg, where she served as the recording secretary from 1993 until moving to Orlando.
Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Alfred "Al" Runyan on May 20, 1972; by two brothers: John A. "Jack" Roberts in 1991 and William O. Roberts in 1998; and by a sister, Helen R. Gross in 2003.
Dot is survived by her twin daughters: Donna L. Runyan, with whom she resided in Florida and Debbie L. Runyan of Carlisle. She was the last of her immediate family.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
