Dorothy M. Shuler, age 87, formerly of Railroad St., Bloomsburg, went to be with her Lord at 11:20 a. m. Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Country Meadows of Lancaster nursing facility in Lancaster.
Born in Scott Township on January 5, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Ray and Edith M. (Reese) Seybert. She resided in Bloomsburg until 1955 and resided in Reading, Bethlehem and Harrisburg, before returning to Bloomsburg in 1978. She moved to Lancaster following the September, 2011 flood.
Dorothy was a 1944 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.
She was employed as a nursing assistant at the Bloomsburg Hospital for 14 years, retiring in 1992.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lester R. Shuler on December 25, 1998; by three brothers: Kenneth E. Seybert, Robert J. Seybert, Raymond Rodgers, and a sister, Esther M. Brown.
Surviving are two daughters: Gloria A., wife of Richard Gargano, Willow Street and Dawn M. Melito, Myrtle Beach, SC; four grandchildren: Michael Kilgour and Patrick Kilgour, Lancaster; and Abbey Brink and Douglas Brink, Myrtle Beach, SC; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry N. Seybert, and his wife Margaret, Bloomsburg; and a half/sister, Lillian Gross, Danville.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Chaplain James Day of Lancaster officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
Romans Chapter 10, verse 13: âFor whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
