Douglas Earl Lizardi

Douglas Earl Lizardi, age 69, of Bloomsburg, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 9, 2022, in Millville, Delaware.

Born at the Bloomsburg Hospital on June 9, 1953, he was the son of the late William S. and Betty B. (Ikeler) Lizardi. A lifelong resident of the Bloomsburg area, he was a 1972 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.

Doug held numerous careers in retail clothing, communications, and transportation, but his fondest and greatest enjoyment was working in sports equipment management for the Athletic Department at Bloomsburg University where he worked for over 15 years before retiring.

Upon retirement in 2013, he enjoyed spending time with his family, outdoor sports, music, fitness, and taking in the sun in his beloved Ocean City, Maryland.

His legacy continues through his wife of 45 years, Debbie S. (Rance) Lizardi; son, Branden W. Lizardi, Berlin, Maryland; brother Lloyd R. “Bud” Musselman, and his wife Tina, Seattle, Wash.; brother-in-law, Robert C. Rance and his wife Carina, Bloomsburg; and sister-in-law, Judith, wife of Alfred “Ben” Jackson, III, Oxford, PA. His influence and love was shared with numerous nieces and nephews.

At the request of the family, services will be held privately.
