Doyle E. Bowman
Doyle E. Bowman, age 84, 46 Victory Street , Orangeville (Stoney Brook Circle), died at 1:33 a. m.. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was admitted Tuesday afternoon.
Born in Mount Pleasant Township on March 9, 1928, he was a son of the late Henry and Melva (Hippenstiel) Bowman. He resided in the Lightstreet area most of his lifetime.
Doyle was last employed as the manager of Brookside Village Mobile Home Park, working there for 20 years until retiring about 2000. Earlier he was employed as a farmer, truck driver, by PennDot and Robert C. Young, Inc., Paving.
He was a member of the Lightstreet United Methodist Church; Columbia Valley Moose Lodge 623; Lightstreet Community Fire Co.; and a life member of the Bloomsburg Elks Lodge 436.
Doyle was preceded in death by four brothers: John Bowman, Carroll Bowman, Glen Bowman, Dean Bowman and a sister, Helen Albeck.
Surviving are his wife, the former Irene Yocum, with whom he celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on June 16, 2012; a son, David E. Bowman, and his wife Sharon, Berwick; a daughter, Linda, wife of Frank Monroe, Lightstreet; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and another due any day;
Additional survivors are three sisters: Phyllis Pugh, Bloomsburg; Margaret, wife of Earl Lemon and Joyce Johnson, of Orangeville; brother in law: Alvin Albeck, Duncannon; three sisters in law: Darl Bowman, Betty Bowman and Betty Zearfoss, all of Bloomsburg. There are also numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with his pastor, Rev. Jennifer Parks-Snyder officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial park, Lime Ridge. The family will receive friends from 10 - 11 a. m.
