Duane H. Farrell

Duane H. Farrell, age 80, 6 Mountainside Road, Berwick, died at 7 a.m. Sunday, February 28, 2016 in the emergency room of The Berwick Hospital Center. He was in failing health for a number of years.

Born in Bradford on April 7, 1935, he was a son of the late Don D. and Celia A. (Frank) Farrell. He resided in the Berwick area since 1992 and formerly lived in Danville.

Duane was a truck driver for most of his working life and was last employed in that capacity by Van Houten Farms, Orangeville.

He was a member of the Teamsters Union. His hobbies included woodworking, refinishing furniture, playing cards and doing puzzle books. Early in his life he was an avid hunter. He served with the US Air Force during the 1960’s.

Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy M. Longenberger, with whom he celebrated his 20th wedding anniversary on September 9, 2015; six children: Rick Farrell, and his wife Virgie, Wyoming; Mike Farrell, and his wife Louann, Virginia; Jeanne Farrell, Bradford; Eric Farrell, Lewisburg; Lisa, wife of Robert Hoffman, Northumberland; Todd Soble, and his wife Tina Middlesex, Vt.; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Jane Grassi, Bradford and Rolena Mason, Limestone, N.Y.

At the request of the deceased, all services will be held privately. Interment will be in the Willow Dale Cemetery, Bradford. There will be no viewing.
