EARL E. ROBINSON, SR.

Earl E. Robinson, Sr., age 71, 138 E. Eighth Street, Bloomsburg, died early Saturday, December 26, 2009 at his home.

Born on April 4, 1938 in Mahoning Township, Montour County, he was a son of the late Theodore and Julia (Snyder) Robinson. He resided in Bloomsburg for 41 years.

Earl was a 1957 graduate of Danville High School.

He was a machinist and was last employed by the Kawneer Co., Inc., Bloomsburg, retiring in 2001. Previously he was employed by the former Textron Corp. and the former TRW plants in Danville.

Earl was an avid weight lifter, winning many awards, including setting a national record in bench pressing for men over 70.

Surviving are his wife, the former Ruth E. "Betty" Zimmerman, with whom he would have celebrated his 53rd wedding anniversary on Jan. 4, 2010; two sons: Earl E. Robinson, Jr., and his wife Patty, Dublin and David S. Robinson, and his wife Melinda, Danville; a son-in-law, Ed Kovaleski, Danville; four grandchildren: Arthur, Jason, Merisa and Ian; five great-grandchildren: Danielle, Jessica, Autumn, Alyssa, and Jaylen; a sister, Luzetta "Sis" Beyer, Danville; and two brothers: Theodore Robinson, and his wife Christa, Killeen, Tex. and Terry Robinson, Tex. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Earl was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Kovaleski on July 25, 2006 and by a brother, Robert Robinson.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in Trinity United Methodist Church, 306 Lombard Ave., Danville, with the Rev. Dennis W. Derr, pastor of the Church officiating. There will be no calling hours.
