Earl E. Robinson, Jr.
Earl E. Robinson, Jr., age 56, 138 E. Eighth Street, Bloomsburg, died at 9 a . m. Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient for three weeks.
Born at Geisinger Medical Center on September 4, 1957, he was the son of Ruth E. âBettyâ (Zimmerman) Robinson, with whom he resided and the late Earl E. Robinson, Sr., who died on December 26, 2009. He was a 1975 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and also attended the former Bloomsburg State College.
Earl returned to Bloomsburg two years ago after residing in Bucks County for 26 years. He was the owner of Rudyâs Mart at the I-80 and Route 54 cloverleaf in Danville for 17 years.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Kovaleski on July 15, 2006.
Earl is survived by in addition to his mother, his wife, the former Patty A. Swartley, with whom he celebrated his 13 wedding anniversary on June 13, 2013; two sons: Arthur E. Pursel, and his wife Jessica, Lynchburg, Va. and Jason C. Robinson, Doylestown; a step-son, G. Travis Gerhart, Danville; eight grandchildren: Danielle, Jessica, Connor and Colton Pursel; Autumn and Cayden Robinson; Alyssa and Jaylen Gerhart; and a brother, David S. Robinson, and his wife Melinda, Danville.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at 11 a. m. in Trinity United Methodist Church, 306 Lombard Avenue, Danville, with the Church pastor, Rev. Ronald S. French officiating. There will be no viewing. Flowers will be provided by the family.
The family will greet friends immediately following the services.
