Edgar W. Johnson
Edgar W. Johnson, age 79, 323 Wagner Drive, Bloomsburg, died at 7:30 a. m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Berwick Retirement Village II, in Berwick. He was in failing health for two years.
Born in Hazleton on August 2, 1935, he was a son of the late Guy and Sarah "Sally" (Ashman) Johnson. He resided in the Bloomsburg are since 1955.
Edgar was employed as a logger during his early life and he later worked for the former Magee Carpet Co.; US Radium, Corp. and Shoemaker Auto Supply. His last employment was at NAPA Auto Parts, Bloomsburg, retiring in January, 2005.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
Edgar was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Johnson.
Surviving are his wife, the former Anna M. Wagner, with whom he observed his 59th wedding anniversary on September 24, 2014; seven children: David W. Johnson, and his wife Myra; Bonnie E. Johnson; Betty Ann, wife of William LeFevre; James D. Johnson, and his wife Sherri; Cindy Lee, wife of Marty Cook, all of Bloomsburg; Raymond E. Johnson, and his wife Wendy, Danville; Margaret I. Johnson, at home; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a brother, Robert Lee Johnson, Gordon and a sister, Margaret Ann Thomas, Buckhorn.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.
