Edna P. (Swartz) Heydenreich Koelker, age 89, of 29 W. Fourth Street, Bloomsburg died at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville on Saturday morning, April 17, 2021

Born in Clinton Township, Lycoming County of April 15, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Mary (Robbins) Swartz. She resided in Bloomsburg for many years and more recently she resided in Ormond Beach, Florida for over 20 years, returning to Bloomsburg in February, 2021.

 She was a 1950 graduate of Montgomery High School and went on to attend the former Lock Haven State Teachers College where she was the first female member of the gymnastic team.

Edna was employed as an LPN working with hospice groups for 30 years until retiring at age 78. Earlier she was employed in the former Columbia County Cancer Unit office for several years.

She was a member of the Bloomsburg Chapter 279, Order of Eastern Star and a past Worthy Matron of the group.  Earlier she was an advisor to the Rainbow Girls. She also belonged to the Ormond Beach Moose Lodge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands: Frederick C. Heydenreich, II, on May 7, 2009 and Donald Koelker in 2006; a son, Frederick C. Heydenreich, III on February 1, 2003; a sister, Martha Lupold and a brother Robert Swartz.

Edna is survived by a daughter, Jo Ann Heydenreich, with whom she resided and a son, John F. Heydenreich of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren: Aaron Fleming, Brooklyn N.Y.; Tara, wife of T. J. Figard, Lake Norman, N. C.; Julie Wardigo, Pittsburgh; Madilynn Heydenreich, Indianapolis, Ind.; five great-grandchildren: Gwenneth Brantley, Delilah Brantley, Harper Brantley, Evelyn Figard and Adeline Figard.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 7 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with Rev. Gordon E. Smith, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy, officiating. Viewing from 5:30 p. m. until the time of the service with an Eastern Star Memorial Service at 7 p.m.  Interment at the convenience of the family in Green Lawn Memorial park, Montgomery.
