Edward E. Jenkins
Edward E. Jenkins, age 82, 3101 Bloom Road, Danville, died at 3:45 p. m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, after battling surgical complications
Born in Mahoning Township, Montour County on August 20, 1931, he was a son of the late Edward T. and Florence (Keefer) Jenkins. He resided in the Danville area his entire life.
Ed served with the US Army during the Korean War. Upon his return home, he was employed at the former TRW plant in Danville for 43 years, retiring in 1996
An avid lover of camping, fishing and clamming, he spent many fun filled days at his camp site in Delaware.. He also enjoyed going to flea markets and engaging in buying and selling. In later years he had a large garden at his home and enjoyed riding his Harley.
Ed was a member of St. James United Church of Christ, Ridgeville; the Valley of Bloomsburg Post 273, American Legion and the Danville Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lois M. Taylor, with whom he celebrated his 57th wedding anniversary on Feb. 1, 2014; a son, Daniel Jenkins, at home; three daughters: Donna Campbell, Teresa, wife of John Gudonis and Ruth Ann, wife of Ron Newman, all of Danville; four grandchildren: Adam Campbell; John Gudonis; Taylor Anderson; Mitchell Newman; three great-grandchildren: Emily, Anna and Alina.
Also surviving are three brothers: Robert Jenkins, and his wife Karen, Bloomsburg; Charles Jenkins and Donald Jenkins, both of Danville; five sisters: Sandra, wife of Eugene Hurley; Floretta Etnoyer, Naples, Fla.; Gladys Jenkins, Berwick; Shirley Jenkins, Danville; Carol Derr, Nescopeck; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Ed will be missed by his family and friends.
A viewing will be held on Monday from 6-8 p. m. at the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville. The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to the Animal Resource Center, c/o Linda Bird, 301-A Boone Road, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Elan Memorial park, Lime Ridge.
