Edwin B. Fait, age 85, 3642 First Street, Bloomsburg (Almedia) died at 5:15 A. M. Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 at his home after being in failing health since October.
Born in Union City, New Jersey on Oct. 31, 1926, he was a son of the late Edward G. and Elizabeth (Bourguignon) Fait. He resided in the Almedia area since 1955.
Edwin was a 1944 graduate of Holy Family High School, Union City, N.J. where he played basketball and baseball and was president of his class.
He was employed by the former Breischâs Dairy, Bloomsburg, and itâs successor, Pocono Dairy for over 50 years, retiring in 2006.
Edwin was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, where he was a longtime usher.
He was active as a coach with the Almedia pre-teen baseball group when his sons were involved. He enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren and attended their school activities and sporting events.
Edwin enjoyed old movies, listening to talk radio as well as high school sports. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed NASCAR racing.
Surviving are his wife, the former Joan M. Jacomo, with whom he would have celebrated his 62nd wedding anniversary on January 22nd; two sons: Edward J. Fait, and his wife Deborah, Selinsgrove and William A. Fait, and his wife Lynn, Danville; a daughter, Patricia A., wife of John Feichtel, Mechanicsburg; and nine grandchildren: Kyle, Corey, Colin, Nick and Ben Fait; Katelyn Appel; and Brittney, Cecelia and Carissa Feichtel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 a. m. in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St., Bloomsburg, by his pastor, Mgsr. Robert E. Lawrence. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
Friends may call on Sunday from 7-9 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg. Christian Wake services will be held at 8:30 p. m. Sunday.
