Eileen P. Boudman, age 68, 772 Mainville Drive, Bloomsburg, died at 2:38 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Balanced Care at Bloomsburg, where she had been a resident for a year. She was in failing health for more than a year.
Born in Bloomsburg on Sept. 2, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Clair E. and Edith (Kreischer) Hughes. A 1960 graduate of Southern Area High School, she also attended the Penn State University Hazleton Campus for two years. She resided in the Bloomsburg area her entire life.
Eileen was employed as a Dietary Supervisor for 26 years at the former Maple Crest Nursing Home and its successor, the Bloomsburg Health Care Center; retiring in 2001.
She was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Mainville. When she was able, she volunteered for Columbia-Montour Hospice, and she was known for the pies she would bake for her church and other community activites. Her greatest joy was being a full time grandmother to her only grandson, Tyler.
Eileen was preceded in death by her beloved Labradors: Ashley Ann, Kalene and Buddy.
Surviving is her husband, Paul E. Boudman, Jr., with whom she would have celebrated her 55th wedding anniversary on March 7, 2011; a son, Andy H. Boudman, at home; a daughter, Nancy J., wife of Ray Chulock, Bloomsburg; a grandson, Tyler Chulock; a brother, Clair R. Hughes, Catawissa; several aunts and cousins; and her current furry friends, Daisy and Oliver.
