Elizabeth M. (Thomas) Miller, age 96, 1274 Hemlock Street, Bloomsburg, died at her home at 11:30 a. m. Saturday, November 11, 2017.
Born in Bloomsburg on August 2, 1921, she was the only child of the late Irvin F. and Martha E. (O'Brien) Thomas.. She was a lifelong resident of Bloomsburg and a 1939 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.
Elizabeth was employed by Berkheimer, Associates for 23 years, retiring in 1985. Earlier she was employed by the Philadelphia Ordnance District in Berwick during World War II.
A member of Wesley United Methodist Church for over 70 years, she also belonged to the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary and the Frosty Valley Country Club where she participated in a group of golfers called "the nine holers".
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max B. Miller on January 19, 2013 ending a marriage of 68 years and by a daughter, Gwen S. Nicholson on July 10, 2013.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Gary R. Miller, and his wife Bonnie, who resided with her, two grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. She was the last of her family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with Eileen M. Chapman, Certified Lay Speaker and friend officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. Friends may call on Tuesday from 1 p. m. until the time of the service.
