Elizabeth T. Rudnik, age 93, Bloomsburg, died at 6:10 p. m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Bloomsburg Health Care Center where she was a patient for six weeks.
Born in Utica, New York on April 11, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Lubow) Troeltzsch. She resided in Bloomsburg from 1981 to 2004 and in Wall Township, New Jersey from 2002 to 2008.
Elizabeth was a 1935 graduate of East Stroudsburg High School and attended New York University where took drafting courses. She also took classes at Bloomsburg University.
She was employed as a draftsman prior to her marriage.
She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg; Bloomsburg Ivy Club; Bloomsburg Civic Club; and Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary.
Elizabeth traveled extensively, visiting 62 different countries.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Rudnik, on September 25, 1981; by three sisters and one brother.
Surviving are two sons: William H. Rudnik, and his wife Barbara, Calabash, North Carolina; John F. Rudnik, Port Clinton, Ohio; a daughter, Barbara, wife of Dr. John A. Scerbo, D.D.S., Orangeville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a. m. in St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9 St. Luke Way, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Jeffrey G. Bohan officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. There will be no viewing.
The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to the Columbia-Montour Home Hospice, 410 Glenn Ave., Bloomsburg or to St. Luke Lutheran Church.
