Ellamae (Welsh) Brewer, age 81, of Bloomsburg, died at 3:25 a. m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the Bloomsburg Health Care Center where she had resided for the past year.
Born in Bloomsburg on May 29, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Myrtle (Neuhard) Welsh. She spent her lifetime in the Bloomsburg area and was a 1949 graduate of the former Scott Township High School.
Ellamae was employed at the former House of Fabrics on Main Street, Bloomsburg for a number of years and later co-owned the store for several years.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg for over 50 years.
Ellamae was an avid bowler and at one time participated in the ladies leagues at the Bloomsburg Moose and Peanut Bowl.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Brewer on Feb. 21, 2011 and by a brother, Eugene Welsh.
Surviving are a son, James C. Brewer, and his wife Mary, Denver, PA; and three daughters: Judith A., wife of Derl Reichard, Danville; Janet E., wife of Jack Mikesell, Dayton, Ohio; Jean L. Schulz, Bloomsburg; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eva Schechterly, Bloomsburg.
Funeral services will be held on Sat. at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Jay E. Jones officiating. Interment in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Orangeville.
