Emma A. (Fritz) Kile, age 96, 7 W. Hillcrest Drive, Bloomsburg, died at 11:39 a. m. Sunday, April 22, 2018, at the Sunset Ridge Health & Rehabilitation in Scott Township where she was a patient since February 3, 2018.
Born in Benton Township on December 11, 1921, she was daughter of the late Arden and Belma M. (Golder) Fritz. She was a graduate of the Sugarloaf Township High School and attended Benton High School for one year.
Emma was the bookkeeper for her husband's business, Kile's Auto Body, on Millville Road, Bloomsburg.
She was a longtime member of the Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, Bloomsburg.
Emma enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles and word search puzzles. She also liked birds and had one for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert L. Kile, on January 11, 1998; by a sister, Dorothy Rupert; two brothers, Robert Fritz and Willard "Bill" Fritz; a half brother, Jack L. Golder; a daughter in law, Barbara Kile and a son in law, Warren Glidewell.
Emma is survived by three children: Larry C. Kile, and his wife Barbara A., Muncy; Ellen A. Glidewell, Bloomsburg; Allen R. Kile, and his wife Jane S., Bloomsburg; six grandchildren: Brian Kile, Paradise, Utah; Lynn Persing, Yeagertown; Kelly Martz, Greenville, South Carolina; Susan Bennett, Orangeville; Kelly Ann Wool, Hughesville; Nathan Newman, Pittsburgh; eight great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a. m. in Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, 260 E. Seventh Street, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Steven C. Hummel, officiating. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
