Eric Richard Schloyer

Eric Richard Schloyer, age 40, of Dallas, Tex. and formerly of Berwick, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the Dallas Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Tex. after an illness.

Born in Berwick on September 21, 1981, he was the son of Bobbi Jo (Kishbaugh) Broyles, of Bloomsburg, and Jeff R. Schloyer, of Berwick.

Eric was a 2000 graduate of Berwick High School and graduated Penn State in 2004 with a B.S. in Business Human Resources. He resided in Dallas since March 2005 and at the time of his death, he was employed at Christus Health System as the Director of Credentialing.

Eric loved music and visiting the Delaware beaches. He was an accomplished French horn player in high school and also played with the Bloomsburg University orchestra and the Williamsport Community Orchestra.

Surviving in addition to his parents is his step-father, Charles Broyles, of Bloomsburg; a brother, Steven J. Schloyer; a half-sister, Emilie Schloyer; three step-brothers: Harry Knorr, Jr., and his wife Heidi, Michael Knorr, and Brian Knorr, and his wife Stephanie; maternal grandmother, Yvonne “Bonnie” Kishbaugh; paternal grandmother, Helen Snyder; two aunts: Beth Alba, and her fiancée, Bill Fedder; and Kathy Eddinger, all of Berwick; and an uncle, David Schloyer, of Lake Worth, Fla; and numerous cousins and friends. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Gordon E. Smith, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Espy, officiating. Visitation from 10-11 a.m.
