ETHEL MAE KEISTER
Ethel Mae Keister, 92, 5 Barton Street, Lewisburg, died at 5:30 p. m. Saturday, November 19, 2011, at the Kramm Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Milton, where she resided for nine years.
Born in Scranton on May 23, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Ethel (Williamson) Diem. She was a graduate of Scranton High School and the former Mansfield State Teachers College. She resided in Lewisburg since the late 1940's.
Ethel Mae was employed at the former Laurelton State School for many years as a dietician. Following her retirement, she stayed active by engaging in the antique business with her sons, Bill and Lewis, in Lewisburg.
She was a longtime member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter S. Keister in 1986; a daughter, Susan Snyder and a grandson, Michael Nicewinder.
Surviving are seven children: Walter Keister, Marylou Keister, Robert Keister, Linda Keister, William Keister, Lewis F. Keister, Ethel Ann Keister; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a. m. in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 S. Third St., Lewisburg, with her pastor, Rev. William S. Henderson officiating. There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church.
In keeping with her wishes, her body has been donated to Humanity Gifts Registry and transported to the Community Medical College of Pennsylvania in Scranton to be used for anatomical studies.
