Eva E. Powell, age 92, 809 Bonnieville Road, Stillwater (Cambra) died at 4:25 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2009 at the Bonham Nursing Center, Register where she was a patient for 11 month.
Born in Chester on June 9, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Robert A. and Clara E. (Long) McAllister. She resided in Cambra since 1958 and previously lived in Clinton, N.J.
She was employed by the Bonham Nursing Center as a housekeeper from 1974 to 1979. She also assisted her husband, Noble W. "Scotty" Powell who died on June 11, 1981 in operating the family farm near Cambra.
Eva was a member of the Town Hill United Methodist Church and she supported many charitable causes.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandaughter, Tami Greisin on June 18, 1999.
Surviving are five children; Frances, wife of Paul Baum, Nuremberg; Robert D. Powell, his wife Adelia, Kingston; Judith A. Powell, Allentown; Margaret L. Powell, North Catasauqua; Edward A. Powell, and his wife Karen, Benton, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc Funeral and Cremation Service, Benton with her pastor Rev. Mark A. Hagy, officiating. Interment in Cambra Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m.
