Evelyn M. (Lamoreaux) Rodman, age 96, Cambra, died at her home at 1:05 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2015 after a three month illness.
Born in Kingston on July 24, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Corey F. and Marjorie âMargiaâ M. (Rood) Lamoreaux. Evelyn resided in Cambra since 1971, and formerly lived in King of Prussia.
She was a member of Town Hill United Methodist Church, and attended Cambra Christian Church in recent years.
Evelyn was an avid bridge player and excellent seamstress who loved to dance and listen to big band music. She was creative and artistic; and mid-way through her life she took up painting beautiful pieces of art, some of which won prizes at the Bloomsburg Fair. Evelyn enjoyed summers at Patterson Grove Camp, spending time by the ocean and traveling - especially going on cruises.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William R. Rodman on August 31, 2004; a grandson, Jeffrey Waldo; and a sister, Ermah J. Dolan.
Surviving are two daughters: Marja R. Cronk and Laurie A., wife of Phillip J. Edson, all of Benton; a son, William R. Rodman, Jr., wife Sandra, King of Prussia; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 6 p.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 30 Two and A Half Street, Benton with Pastor David I. Bronson, of the Cambra Christian Church, officiating. Interment at the convenience of the family in Bethel Hill Cemetery, Fairmount Township. Viewing at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 - 6 p.m.
