EVELYN L. RYAN
Evelyn L. Ryan, age 74, formerly of Danville, died at 2:30 a. m. Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Riverwoods in Lewisburg where she was a patient since Sept. 26, 2011. She had been in failing health for the past two years.
Born in Bloomsburg on August 19, 1937, she was a daughter of the late William F., Sr. and Cloma C. (Hower) Hess.
Evelyn was last employed by the Pine Barn Inn, Danville, working in the kitchen prior to her marriage.
She was a member of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, Riverside.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Ryan, Sr., on Mar. 17, 1997, after 38 years of marriage; by a sister, Ruth Ward; and a brother, William F. Hess, Jr.
Surviving are six children: Lucinda J., wife of Benjamin Woolridge, Centerville, Ga.; Debra Ann Ryan, Allenwood; James J. Ryan, Jr., and his wife Dorothy Rose, Garland, Tex.; Brenda, wife of Bradley Drawbaugh; Rebecca J. Gramm; and Roger A. Ryan, and his wife Roni, all of Elizabethtown; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert J. Hess, and his wife Eleanor, Danville; and two sisters: Marian Brando, Newark, N.J. and Ida Hess, Danville.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a. m. in St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, 240 Sunbury Road, Riverside, with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Donald N. Hurley officiating. Interment will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville.
