Evelyn S. Wingate, age 71, 92 Pepper Hills, Danville, died at 10:59 a.m. Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she had been a patient for two days. She had been in failing health for several years.
Born in Jerseytown on March 28, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Dorothy (Ellis) Thomas. She recently moved to Pepper Hills after residing on Fair Street in Bloomsburg for 22 years and previously lived in the Danville area her whole life.
Evelyn was a member of Bloomsburg Christian Church. She enjoyed going to flea markets and craft shows.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie L. Wingate, with whom she celebrated 53 years of marriage on October 1, 2014; a son, Michael L. Wingate, Bloomsburg; a daughter, Lisa L., wife of William Vroman, Hampton, Conn.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers: Robert Thomas, wife Millie, Jerseytown and LaRue Thomas, wife Donna, Salt Lake City, Utah; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
