Fern I. (Keller) Armstrong

Fern I. (Keller) Armstrong, age 94, formerly of Bloomsburg passed away on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024, at The Gardens At Orangeville.

Born in Mt. Grove on Sept. 8, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Malinda (Sherman) Keller. She was a lifelong resident of the Bloomsburg area.

Fern held several jobs in her working years, including DFC Foods in Bloomsburg.

She enjoyed canning foods, and spending time at the Catawissa Senior Center. She especially enjoyed calling her friends on the telephone for very brief conversations.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Harold L. Armstrong, Jr. on December 3, 2008; two brothers: Merlin S. Keller and Jackson H. Keller and four sisters: Betty Fisher, Edna Makara, Barbara Johns and Mary Cool.

Fern is survived by her daughter Kathleen, wife of David Ervin, Elysburg; a granddaughter, Lisa, wife of Matthew Wagner of Mechanicsburg; two great-grandsons: Russel Wagner and Nathaniel Wagner; two sisters: Helen Longenberger and Minnie Hess, both of Bloomsburg and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders, pastor of St. Matthew Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Elan Memorial Park at Lime Ridge. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 4-6 p. m.
