Frances A. Haas, age 96, of 25 Kipps Run Road, Danville, died at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Grandview Health Homes, Danville, where she resided since January 17, 2014.
Born in Danville on September 6, 1918, she was a daughter of Montgomery and Bertha (Van Gilder) Knarr. Frances resided in Danville and Riverside all her life.
She was employed by the former Danville Manufacturing Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1975.
Frances loved her family; and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Haas on July 29, 1980. At the time of his passing, they had celebrated 43 years of marriage.
Surviving are three children: Robert C. Haas, wife Molly, with whom she last resided; Lucille H. âBabeâ Thompson, Lewistown and Kenneth L. Haas, Danville; twelve grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was the last in a family of 12 children, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville with Rev. Dawes J. Dunham and Rev. Dr. Harry H. Wonderland, Sr., pastors of First Baptist Church, Danville officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Danville.
