FRANKLIN D. HESS
Franklin D. "Frank" Hess, age 71, 391-A Harrison Road, Orangeville, died at his home at 7:30 p. m. Saturday, August 6, 2011 after being in declining health for six years.
Born at the Bloomsburg Hospital on June 24, 1940, he was a son of the late O. Edward and Beatrice M. (Swisher) Hess. He spent his entire life in Fishingcreek Township and was a 1958 graduate of Benton High School.
Frank owned Franklin D. Hess Enterprises, a DeLaval Dairy Equipment dealer, from his home for 35 years, retiring in 2002. He also was a farmer all of his life.
He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church.
Frank's passions in life were time spent with his children and grandchildren, as well as farming.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine A. Hess on March 22, 2004.
Surviving are his wife, the former Nancy C. Sterner, with whom he celebrated his 48th wedding anniversary on May 18, 2011; a son, Neil E. Hess, and his wife Teresa, Danville; a daughter, Lori N., wife of Glen Maxwell, Huntersville, N.C.; three grandchildren: Katie Hess, Kelsey Hess and Colin Maxwell; and a brother, Robert R. Hess, and his wife Sandra, Benton.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Benton, with his pastor, Rev. Darwin C. Goshorn officiating. Interment in St. James Cemetery, near Bendertown.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 p. m.
